He has worked on major projects such as Universal’s Wicked (Oscar, BAFTA & CDG winner for Best Costume), Tim Burton’s Wednesday (Emmy winner for Best Contemporary Costumes) and Bridgerton, along with critically acclaimed productions like Phantom Thread and Harry Potter & The Cursed Child.

Andrew McMillan
Andrew McMillan
Andrew McMillan’s debut collection physical was the only ever poetry collection to win The Guardian First Book Award. The collection also won the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize, a Somerset Maugham Award (2016), an Eric Gregory Award (2016) and a Northern Writers’ award (2014). It was shortlisted the Dylan Thomas Prize, the Costa Poetry Award, The Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year 2016, the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, the Roehampton Poetry Prize and the Polari First Book Prize. It was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Autumn 2015. In 2019 it was voted as one of the top 25 poetry books of the past 25 years by the Booksellers Association. His second collection, playtime, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2018; it was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for Autumn 2018, a Poetry Book of the Month in both The Observer and The Telegraph, a Poetry Book of the Year in The Sunday Times and won the inaugural Polari Prize. His third collection, pandemonium, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2021, and 100 Queer Poems, the acclaimed anthology he edited with Mary Jean Chan, was published by Vintage in 2022 and was shortlisted for the Books Are My Bag Readers Awards. Physical has been translated into French, Galician, German and Norwegian editions, with a double-edition of physical & playtime published in Slovak in 2022. He is Professor of Contemporary Writing at the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. His debut novel, Pity, was published by Canongate in 2024, and was named as one of the top 20 books of 2024 by The Independent. It has been translated into numerous languages including Norwegian, Swedish, French, German, Turkish and Slovak.
Corinne Bailey Rae
Musician
From Leeds, England, singer/songwriter/musician Corinne Bailey Rae shot to stardom with her self-titled #1 UK debut album in 2006, featuring the global hits “Put Your Records On“ and “Like A Star”
Bailey Rae has received two GRAMMY AWARDS, two MOBOS, alongside multiple nominations including BRIT and BET Awards. She was awarded her first GRAMMY® in 2008 for Album Of The Year when featured on Herbie Hancock's River: The Joni Letters. Her second album,The Sea (2010) was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. The subsequent EP Is This Love garnered a GRAMMY® for Best R&B Performance
In 2016 Bailey Rae returned with “boundary-defying, epic music” (NPR) for her third studio album, The Heart Speaks In Whispers, also declared “the best R&B of 2016” (The Guardian). The album featured the stunning "Green Aphrodisiac" named “10 best R&B songs of 2016” (Billboard) and selected by President Obama for his summer playlist.
Bailey Rae’s success has lead her to composing music for film and television, including the theme to Stan Lee’s Lucky Man (SKY1). She recorded “The Scientist” for Universal Pictures’ Fifty Shades Darker opening title and soundtrack, which charted globally. 2020 included The High Note with Bailey Rae’s “New to Me”, performed in the film by Tracee Ellis Ross.
Bailey Rae continues to collaborate and perform with artists across musical genres, including Mary J Blige, Al Green, Herbie Hancock, KING, Paul McCartney, Kele Okereke (Bloc Party), Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Questlove, Salaam Rami, RZA, Tyler The Creator, Paul Weller, Richard Hawley, Stevie Wonder, Tracey Thorn, Pharrell, Logic, Mick Jenkins, and many more.
Throughout Bailey Rae’s career she has performed worldwide from Glastonbury to Byron Bay Blues Festival. In 2019 Bailey Rae performed at BST Hyde Park, Newport Jazz Festival, Central Park SummerStage, London Jazz Festival, Delicious Festival (Johannesburg, SA), Rio Montreux Jazz Festival, The O2 (London), and Billboard Live Osaka & Tokyo. Most recently Bailey Rae performed Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” as a duet with Leslie Odom Jr. at the 2021 BAFTA’s in London at The Royal Albert Hall.
Andi Walk-er
Costume Designer
Andi Walk-er:/ is a textiles art-ist:/ their studio practice is deeply rooted in process. From their dye-ing:/ techniques of creating unique paint-erly:/ fabrics which are records of the often perform-ative:/ methods of applying the dye to the surface of the cloth.
Their work frequently challenges and subvertssocietal norms around gender and masculine femininity’s. and exploring this through the garment and stitch-ed:/ narratives sited on the body and this work is frequently positioned within the context of dance.
Their work investigates materials that are at odds with each other which can been seen as autobiographical of their life journey with their gender.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art Constructed Textiles in 2010 they have been engag-ed:/ in collaborative projects with choreographers & dance companies to explore the relation-ship:/ between dancer & garment.
They have recently completed working with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park within their summer exhibition ’On Queer Ground’ which saw them create a quilt of ‘stitched stories.’
Matteo Marfoglia
Curriculum Lead — VERVE
Matteo graduated from Codarts in Rotterdam and danced for many years with Introdans in the Netherlands and National Dance Company Wales in the UK, performing works by international choreographers including Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Roy Assaf, Alexander Ekman, William Forsythe, Christopher Bruce, Johan Inger, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Inbal Pinto and Angelin Preljocaj. In 2011 Matteo danced in the multi-disciplinary project Nierka created by Satore Studio in London, directed by Tupac Martir and choreographed by Fernando Hernando Magadan (Netherlands Dance Theater).
In 2017 Matteo founded his own project-based company in Cardiff (Wales, UK). Matteo’s work has been commissioned by organisations in Wales including NDCWales, Wales Millenium Centre and Rubicon Dance, as well as being presented at international festivals such as Altofest (Naples, IT), Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore (Ravenna, IT), Interplay/18 (Turin, IT), Teatro Fontana (Milan, IT), HangartFest (Pesaro, IT), and Valletta 18 European City of Culture (Malta).
In 2018 Matteo worked as Rehearsal Director for National Dance Company Wales and has been an Associate Artist with the company since 2017. He is also a certified Gaga Teacher, having undertaken the Gaga Teachers’ Training in Tel Aviv under the artistic direction of Bosmat Nossan, Saar Harari, and Ohad Naharin. Matteo is the creator of Together We Create//Creu Gyda’n Gilydd a project created in partnership with arts and non-arts organisations, artists and community members that gives voice to the hopes, desires and needs of the Penrhys community in Rhondda Cynon Taff.
In 2020, The Sunset Show was commissioned through The Agency programme run via National Theatre Wales. Matteo supported The Agency participants to create an outdoor show in Grangetown streets, with Grangetown artists, for Grangetown residents.
Otis Jones
Musician / Composer
Otis Jones is a Professional Musician, Composer and trained Contemporary Dancer.
He began dancing with Swindon Dance, and then trained for 3 years at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
His musical journey was more self-led, taking piano lessons when he was younger, and then teaching himself guitar, bass and how to record music during his dance training. He has worked as part of a Dance and Music duo called Snakebox since his graduation, exploring the synergy of music and movement, and taking lessons and techniques from both to further his artistic craft. He has composed scores for many contemporary dance pieces and dance films, with companies and artists such as Mobius Dance, JV2, Jamaal Burkmar and Gary Clarke. He has also worked as a composer for independent feature films, and online advertisements.
Otis has much musical experience as a multi-instrumentalist, playing keys, guitar, bass, singing and programmable electronic hardware & software instruments. He has utilised these skills not only in his composition work, but also performing with bands (both original work and covers) and his work as an accompanist for the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and Swindon Dance. He is also currently the bass player for Jinjé & A Brief Utopia.
Jake Dubber
Visual Artist
Jake Dubber is a generative artist, interactive systems programmer, musician and multimedia creator who explores the line between artist, performer and curator. Their work often combines photography, video and data as input, and produces non-representational, psychedelic visuals as output: information synthesis at its least useful. They have collaborated with cutting-edge visual artists across Europe, created works for award-winning musicians, and exhibited their work at the Tate Modern in London.
Melissa Parry (Burton)
Costume Designer
As well as regularly returning to Trinity Laban as a freelance designer and maker Melissa also has worked as a designer for Verve Dance, the English Ballet CAT Programme, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and has worked alongside the Northern Ballet Education Department as a designer and consultant for their collaboration with Burberry Inspire to encourage dancing and the Arts in schools across the West Yorkshire Region.
James Mackk
Artist - AR Filters Creator
James Mack is an Art Director, animator, interaction designer and director. His work focuses on taking highly synthetic image making and combining it with reality in order to use CGI as a poetic storytelling mechanism, rather than for shock and awe. He has been nominated for Show Studio’s Fashion Film of the year and at London Short Film Festival, as well as working for clients; FKA Twigs, Lazy Oaf and Charli Cohen.
Oli Bentley
Artist and Designer
Oli Bentley is creative director of award-winning design studio Split and has worked extensively in the creative sector in the North of England over the past 14 years.
He has worked closely with organisations such as Phoenix Dance Theatre, Yorkshire Dance and Inclusion North to transform their visual identities, breaking down the boundaries between “the brand” and "the art”, whilst paying great attention to accessibility and inclusion.
Anna Franks
Marketing and Audience Development
Anna has over 23 years experience in research, marketing and communications. Previously Director of Research and Consultancy at Audiences Yorkshire, Anna has been working as a freelance consultant specialising in the arts and cultural sector for the last 18 years.
Anna plays a dual role on this project. At a strategic level Anna is supporting the Company to refine in more detail their target audiences for their activity and work. Anna’s work is about immersing herself in the future ambitions of Mobius Dance and supporting the team to shape some clear approaches and strategies for growth and impact.
Alongside this Anna is specifically supporting on the marketing, audience development and evaluation of ‘Curious Playground’ - a new performance being devised by Artistic Director Gianluca Vincentini during the third national lockdown. Anna is working closely with the wider team to develop creative and engaging marketing messages about ‘The Making of Curious Playground’ building towards a more focused marketing campaign to sell the live performance experience once lockdown has lifted.
Kieran Dawes
Filmmaker
Originally from the Lake District, Kieran has a passion for film and photography. He is currently study filmmaking at the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University and he sees his passion and studies becoming a full-time career. Kieran has an interest in film which involves music, dance and fashion as he loves the creative aspects behind it. He has worked for Twinnie, The Overtones, and his work has been featured on the Rolling Stones website.
Kieran has collaborated with the Möbius creative team to create a short dance film titled Encounter Three and is currently working on The Making of: Curious Playground.
Danilo Moroni
Photographer / Filmmaker
Danilo Moroni (ITA, 1987) is a Sicilian born artist.
He earned a degree in arts and dance and as a professional dancer worked, touring internationally, for companies and choreographers such as Grand Theatre de Genève, Alias Guilherme Bothelo, Alexander Ekman, Hofesh Shechter. Danilo grew up in a photographer’s family. He first picked up a film camera at the age of eight when he started photographing around the Sicilian streets. During his trips performing around the world he continued taking pictures as a way to connect and discover new places and people.
After starting his own photographic practice from scratch, four years ago, with no formal training, he has developed into a photographer with his own style and vision appreciated by clients around Europe.
Danilo’s work ranges photography, film making, light designing and performance making.
His work is creative, visceral and with a unique style. In his imagery, he combines classical elements with an artistic personal touch. Danilo has a strong preference for classic subjects, such as as portraits, nudes and dance and he often combines those with influences from performing arts and cinema to create striking images with a strong storytelling element.
In 2015 he started working with Matthew’s Bourne New Adventures & Re:Bourne for whom he has been producing all imagery and campaigns of its New Adventures Choreographer Award. In 2017 Danilo starts collaborating with English National Ballet for Dance Journeys creating a series of images and short films screened at Sadler's Wells Theatre the iconic venue for dance in London.
In April 2017 he started to co-direct a new visual dance piece about dyslexia called Mentally Zero in collaboration with Kate Mummery (funded by Arts Council of England).
In January 2018 Danilo self-published Interferencias (chapter I), a new fine-art book connecting the raw universe of the human body and movement with the concept of time and a strong anthropological element.
In 2019 Danilo joins MFAC studio in Madrid where he is now resident artist. Inside MFAC studio he establishs Danilo Moroni Studio where he creates images and videos ranging from portraits, corporate, fashion and performing arts for clients from around Europe.
Ben Skinner
Illustrator / Performer
Born in Brighton, U.K, Ben works as a freelance artist, dancer and researcher. He holds a degree in Anthropology from Durham University in which he specialised in migration theory and the anthropology of art. He also holds a BPA in Contemporary Dance from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance where he was kindly supported by the South Square Trust and the NSCD Bursary Scheme. In 2016 he completed a masters in Creative Practice exploring the language of performance art, investigating charcoal, clay and the nature of the thinking-body within each discipline.
Current projects include puppetry for Steve Johnstone's' Folklore' tour and dancing for Vanessa Grasse's street-based choreography 'Mesh' . In October 2018 Ben will embark upon a practice led, interdisciplinary arts PhD programme facilitated by Leeds University.
Luke Haywood
Lighting Designer
Luke trained at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance (London) graduating with BA in Lighting Design. Working in Theatre, Dance and TV, Luke is keen to explore the way in which lighting can create and control the world of the actor/dancer. He is currently the technical manager and resident lighting designer for Phoenix Dance Theatre
Recent designs include, Calyx and Beast for Phoenix Dance Theatre (UK & European Tour), Dust for AGITART Companyia (Robin Howard Theatre UK), The Wonderful World of Dissocia (Unicorn Theatre UK), Twelfth Night (Turner Auditorium TX USA) and Bright Unconquered Sons (Pleasance Theatre UK & Rozen Theater Netherlands).
Luke recently designed lights for the New Adventures Choreography Award 2016 showcase working with choreographer Jamaal Burkmar at the Platform Theatre he has also designed lights for VERVE, since 2013 working with choreographers such as James Wilton, Ben Duke, Gemma Nixon and Jonathan Goddard, Kerry Nichols, Luca Silvestrini, Anton Lachky, Renaud Wiser and Theo Clinkard.
His lighting is often highlighted by industry reviewers with Dance Europe 2014 reporting, “special praise must go to Luke Haywood’s lighting which is wonderfully atmospheric”.
Joshua Hughes-Games
Designer / Videographer
Joshua Hughes-Games is a designer, videographer and printer based in Bristol, UK.
Joshua’s work is largely based around print, videography and artistic direction with a strong focus on analogue techniques and labour intensive design practices, including screen printing, Risograph and experimental filmmaking. Josh has worked closely with a wide range of artists within the fields of dance, theatre and music to create videos, installation pieces, printed matter and concept development.
In recent years Josh has worked with, and designed for, an impressive cross section of talent including projects for artists in the blossoming Tokyo grime scene and his continuing art direction and design for the internationally renowned Bandulu Records. He spent a large portion of 2016 working from a range of artist residencies around the world including time spent at the Né Na Contemporary art space (Thailand), The AIRYamanashi (Japan), 100W Corsicana (Texas, USA) and a solo show of work in Tokyo.
Anna Cabrè-Verdiell Bosch
Dance Artist / Journalist
Anna grew up in Barcelona, where her professional dance training began at the 'Institut del Teatre'. Alongside dance, her interest in communication expanded into academia obtaining a degree in journalism at the ’Ramón Llull University’. Following her passion for performance, she moved to England to graduate from 'The Northern School of Contemporary Dance’ with a First Class honours degree.
An enthusiast of interdisciplinary work, Anna has co-created two collaborative dance theatre pieces, Romeo&Julien and Las 3 Marias. Other recent professional endeavours include performing in a restaging of Joan Jonas´s early works at the Tate Modern and the creation and touring of Frankenstein, the latest piece by Cascade Dance Theatre. Additionally, Anna works as a freelance writer producing work for online dance sources such as Au-di-tions.com and ProDance Leeds amongst others.
