Mobius Dance, founded in 2016, is an award-winning professional dance company based in Leeds and Bradford.

Creating professionally led, and artistically excellent, dance opportunities for audiences and communities of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to engage with is at the core of our activity.

Mobius Dance’s approach to dance is unique. Artistic Director Gianluca Vincentini’s mission is to produce work and dance opportunities that inspire the public to watch, act, or participate. Central to creating these opportunities is the focus on making dance inclusive, diverse and accessible to all.

The company works collaboratively with creative people, choosing to place the work in traditional and unexpected spaces, to engage with, and widen the reach and impact of the work with audiences regionally, nationally and internationally.

In pursuing this vision of accessible and inspiring dance opportunities, MD supports and nurtures talented dance artists and choreographers both creatively and practically. Ensuring that we break down barriers that might stop people achieving their dreams and artistic potential is vital. We provide pathways, professional development and performance opportunities for people to develop a creative career. Supporting them to develop their practice and approach to benefit audiences and participants that they will encounter in their career is a key part of this development.

Mobius Dance also engages with early career artists across artforms, e.g. dance, visual art and music.

Mobius Dance is supported by Arts Council England and celebrates collaborations with partners: Leeds Dance Partnership, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Northern Ballet, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Yorkshire Dance, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, ProDanceLeeds, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds City College, York Dance Space, Kala Sangam, Barnsley Civic and Sadler’s Wells.
