Yamil Ortiz

Yamil (he/him) is a Colombian-Spanish dance artist trained at Incolballet in Cali, Colombia, and later at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona.

In 2019, he joined IT Dansa, the institute's young company, where he danced for three seasons and performed works by choreographers such as Alexander Ekman, Akram Khan, Cayetano Soto, Lorena Nogal, and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, among others.

In 2022, he became a member of the Hessisches Statsballett in Germany, where he has performed works by choreographers including Damien Jalet, Imre & Marne Van Opstal, Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal-Gai Behar, Marco Goecke, Eyal Dadon, Fran Diaz, David Raymond & Tiffany Tregarthen, and Maciej Kuzminski, among others.

As he transitions into the freelance scene, Yamil is interested in continuing to expand his art through creativity, curiosity, and collaboration.
