The Long Summer Day
A celebration of queer body and soul, in harmony with the transformative light of the sun.
The Long Summer Day is a poetic journey, evoking the sweetness and intensity of a Summer’s day - through moving, sensing, feeling and imagining.
Danced by the rhythm of the sun - from emergent dawn to cosmic night - the work celebrates the beauty of being and becoming.
In a world where LGBTQIA+ bodies are too often shown through stories of trauma, this work grows as an act of resourcing and freedom. The artists move with a profound intent: to explore ways of expressing “what makes you feel good” - a silent, yet powerful, invitation to rediscover the joy, pleasure, and naturalness of embedding in a space without justification.
The Long Summer Day thus becomes a dance of reclamation and care, offering the public - embracing those belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community - a safe sanctuary where they can soften the defending they have had to learn in their bodies, and let the light pass through them.
here there is no need for armour
there is only the birthright to rest and play
sense into relationship
experience stories
feel present and welcome.
