Reflecting on 2025: A Year of Growth, Collaboration, and New Horizons for Mobius Dance
The Long Summer Day
As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude and pride for the remarkable milestones Mobius Dance has achieved this year. This pivotal year has seen us deepen our roots, expand our reach, and lay a strong foundation for the exciting journey ahead.
One of the highlights of 2025 was securing Arts Council funding for our new production, The Long Summer Day. This project not only enriches our artistic repertoire but also opens doors for international touring in Italy and the UK, bringing our creative vision to new audiences and fostering cultural exchange.
Grateful
Our gratitude goes to our collaborators, whose trust, commitment, and guidance have been instrumental in our growth. Working together has allowed us to innovate, explore new ideas, and strengthen our shared mission of artistic excellence and social impact.
We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our shows and participated in our programs. Your dedication, passion, and enthusiasm continue to inspire us and affirm the vital role of dance and movement in community and well-being.
A special note of appreciation is also due to the Mobius Dance (UK) Board members for their unwavering support and passion. Their dedication and belief in our vision have been invaluable in guiding and sustaining our work.
New Achievements
2025 marked an important milestone in our organisational journey with the establishment of Associazione Culturale Mobius Atelier ETS in Italy. This new non-profit entity, with its dedicated Board and Co-Directors Fabiano Culora and Gianluca Vincentini, signifies our commitment to fostering cultural exchange and creative development across borders.
In addition, our partnership with the Comune di Novi Velia culminated in securing a new physical space for Mobius Atelier at the historic ex-Abbazia dei Celestini. This inspiring setting provides a tangible home for our work and a fertile ground for future projects and community engagement.
Let’s Celebrate!
As we approach the milestone of our 10th anniversary in 2026, we celebrate a decade of growth, resilience, and artistic innovation. This special occasion inspires us to launch new initiatives for young people through the creation of Mobius Youth, as well as the development of our extended Mobius Infinity program—longer courses designed to cultivate enduring skills and passion. Additionally, we are committed to enhancing well-being through upcoming online and in-person classes and retreats that foster healing, connection, and personal growth including Somatic Movement, Eco-somatics, Yoga, Pilates, Biodynamic Cranialsacral and Positive Intelligence Coaching | Re-think Your BodyMind.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the opportunities that the future holds. Our journey is a testament to the power of collaboration, perseverance, and a shared vision for meaningful artistic expression. As Mobius Dance & Atelier continues to evolve, we remain dedicated to inspiring communities, nurturing talent, and creating transformative experiences.
Together, let us embrace the next chapter with hope, courage, and a steadfast belief in the transformative power of dance and art to shape a brighter future.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Mobius Dance announced as Associate Company at Kala Sangam
Kala Sangam, Bradford’s arts centre, has unveiled Mobius Dance as the organisation’s first ever Associate Company, together with Company of Others and Jaivant Patel Dance. These three diverse emerging companies create innovative and exciting dance and performance work across a spectrum of styles, and their position as Associate Companies will see each of them returning regularly to the city to create, engage communities and present work.
Recognising the need to provide more than just financial support to help create change and diversify the arts sector, Kala Sangam will work with the Associate Companies in a more holistic way. As well as a commitment to programming their work, practical support in the form of regular rehearsal space, organisational development support and the opportunity to access training opportunities will be provided to each company. The companies will also be given space and support to build relationships with each other as well as other creatives and organisations across Bradford district.
Alex Croft, Kala Sangam’s Creative Director, said, ‘One of our key aims at Kala Sangam is to support the development of high quality, diverse dance, and I can think of no better way of us doing this than welcoming Company of Others, Jaivant Patel Dance and Mobius Dance as Associate Companies. Led by three of the most exciting, dynamic artistic leaders in the country, each of these companies create work that we think is hugely relevant to Bradford’s multicultural audiences. I can’t wait to continue our support for all three on their exciting journey ahead.’
Gianluca Vincentini said, “Mobius Dance is delighted to continue its journey as an Associate Company at Kala Sangam. I am grateful for the extraordinary support received by Alex Croft and his team so far and thrilled to be able to deepen our working relationship from 2022 onwards.
It is highly valued, in the current climate, to create a partnership in which core values align with ease. Two partners that, together, are willing to embark on a journey to endeavour the balancing of voices within the cultural sector.
This continued support will allow Mobius Dance to carry on its work on a current, innovative, responsive artistic vision, which inspires audiences and continues to make outstanding, impactful contributions to the dance artform in the District and the wider region.”

Curious Playground
3-4-5 June 2021 — 7.30pm
Kala Sangam, Bradford
Curious Playground is a technological interactive performance taking you, the audience, on an immersive, poetic, playful adventure — a chance to experience storytelling through a sensory world.
The 60 minutes long show includes a trio, duet and solo (20 mins each), offering different aesthetics and physical energies.
The set works as an interactive installation which the audience can access after performance - an invitation to play and be creative. The set uses lighting and sensors to react to its surroundings, lighting up when it detects noise, vibration or touch. Two screens display live generative animation which can be interacted with by the dancers and audience.
Curated by Artistic Director Gianluca Vincentini, Curious Playground has been co-created with choreographers Jamaal Burkmar, Annie Hanauer and Amy Voris joined by visual artist Jake Dubber, artist and set designer Aimee Grundell and artist and designer Oli Bentley.
With costumes by Melissa Parry, the audience finds themselves enveloped by walls of music and sound by Otis Jones.
Created with performers Alex Gosmore, Charlie Hogan, Imogen Wright, Iolanda Portogallo, Maya Carroll and Naomi Chockler, Curious Playground offers the potential for audience engagement in a safe manner.
This event will take place following social distancing requirements in place at the time. In accordance with the current government Covid restrictions, we will be collecting contact details for all ticket holders (you will be asked for these when you make your booking, but we will be checking them on the night). Kala Sangam’s events are Pay What You Decide, which means you don’t have to pay until after you have seen the event. Online Company Classes
Join us for some FEEL-GOOD movement!
As Mobius Dance returns to the studio to rehearse for its new performance ‘Curious Playground’ we are inviting dancers of all abilities to join us for a series of virtual Open Classes. The classes are for students, professionals, teachers, movers and curious people.
All levels welcomed
Small spaces & furniture friendly
Open to interpretation & imagination
Read a little about the classes below, they all sound like a much needed treat during 'these times'.
- W/c 15th Feb: Annie Hanauer
The class will bounce between improvising with different energies & scores, and a sprinkling of set material. We will invite curiosity & kindness into the spaces you have to enable new interpretations of weight, and articulation through your body and imagination.
-W/c 22nd Feb: Jennifer-Lynn Crawford
All parts of these classes are open to interpretation, improvisation and general imagination and will offer some ways to address the complexity of moving in ‘these times’, in whichever hybrid space you happen to occupy.
Based on self-identified difficulty with accessing movement imperatives like presence, connection and flow through a screen, we will invite some of those ingredients to land in different or new relationship. This will include landmarking our immediate space, furniture, parts of our body, skin, mask/face and screen-comfort.
-W/c 1st and 8th March: Amy Voris
Each session will begin with a brief introduction to the day's anatomical theme (including looking at imagery), followed by experiential explorations and gentle prompts for improvisation.
The last section of the session will be accompanied by sound and offer space for integration of your movement and ideas. The overall intention is to cultivate and allow time for initiation and quality of movement as well as an imaginative pleasure in dancing.

Cancelled Performance
Performance and activities update from Möbius Dance in light of COVID-19
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Government announcements, we have taken the decision with a heavy heart to cancel the performance of 'Vibrant Matter & Within Each-Other' on Saturday 21 March 2020 at Leeds City College.
The safety and wellbeing of Möbius Dance staff, audiences and artists is of paramount importance and we take this responsibility very seriously.
The staff and artists we work with are vital to the work we do; without them we would simply not exist. The cancellation of our activities will impact not only our audience but also our committed and talented workforce.
We are heavily reliant on the income which we derive through ticket purchases. We will be in contact with all ticket buyers in due course to provide a credit note or refund. Where possible, we ask that you consider donating the value of your tickets to Möbius Dance to allow us to pay some of the costs already incurred by our staff and performers.
You can keep up to date on our future programme via social media and our website.
We thank you for your continued support, it is invaluable during these uncertain times.
